Our Team

Hi, we are Jona, Christoph, and Timo – three tech-loving tinkerers who turned their hobby and a spontaneous "basement idea" into a company for tailor-made 3D printing, scanning and laser solutions. To handle the tasks behind the scenes, Debbie has now also joined the team.

It all started not in front of a computer...

but while out quad-biking – where Jona met Timo.

"Back then, Jona had a technical problem with his Can-Am Renegade. There was a solution from the US, but it wasn't convincing. So, Jona bought his first 3D printer, and we developed our own, better solution. After more than 2,000 km of off-road use, it was clear: it works – in fact, very
well!

That was basically the birth of everything that was yet to come."

– Timo

Then, Christoph and Jona met at the voluntary fire department, station 13 in Porta Westfalica. Since Christoph was already a real pro at drawing and designing 3D models at the time, the two shared a lot of ideas about their common passion. Together with Timo, they quickly realized: there is more to be done. And that is how DuoPrint3D was finally born.

What are the team's goals?

The mission is simple: To pick up where others gave up.

Almost every day, the three tech enthusiasts identify problems and opportunities for optimization, or receive inquiries that usually end with: "Can't you guys do something about that?" Driven by their great ambition and love for what they do, they only stop once they hold the perfect solution for their customers in their hands.

"I draw part of my inspiration from everyday situations. I then tackle a problem and develop solutions. Sometimes these are little helpers for everyday life that, thanks to 3D printing, can be custom-tailored to the respective area of application. And sometimes there are ideas that can have a major impact on many people. For example, when we develop products for fire departments or receive special requests for help. Every new challenge offers potential, and when a particularly tricky idea turns into a real problem solver, for me, it's like Christmas and my birthday falling on the same day."

– Christoph

"At the fire department, I noticed that the fastener of the hose carrying baskets could be improved: a Velcro fastener is difficult to open with thick gloves and often wears out. In an emergency, every second counts, so there just had to be something better. For over six months, we worked on our own solution and tested it extensively. Today, our quick-release fastener is protected Europe-wide by a utility model and design protection. And lo and behold: many other fire departments faced the exact same problems, and the product has now become our bestseller. And we have so many more ideas in the pipeline. Just you wait!"

Debbie Gerlach, Buchhaltung

"Working in the hospitality industry taught me that there is a solution to every challenge. This mindset motivates me in my daily work and drives us all forward. I am delighted to support my brother Jona and DuoPrint3D with the bookkeeping, customer communication, and other back-office tasks."

– Debbie

The team of DuoPrint3D takes on any challenge, no matter how unique: whether it’s specific prototyping, precise 3D modeling via computed tomography, personalized projects in laser engraving and 3D printing, or developing our own in-house products – things will definitely never get boring!

  • Jona Gerlach

Jona was born in 1999, originally comes from Detmold, and now lives in Porta Westfalica-Barkhausen. He is a trained farmer with a huge enthusiasm for technology, but his true passion is 3D printing – something his father introduced him to when he was just 14. From spare parts for agricultural machinery and fire service equipment to decorative items, Jona is always bursting with new ideas. Sometimes, even his printers can barely keep up!

  • Timo Stöcker

Timo was born in 1989, and the only team member from the "Pied Piper town" of Hamelin. His entry into the topic goes back to his hobbies, as it so often does: in FPV flying, 3D printing is an essential part of building and tuning copters. Quad biking also constantly opened up new opportunities to benefit from versatile 3D technology. This made it an easy decision to take things a step further with the others and turn this passion into a career.

  • Christoph Bente

Christoph was born in 1987 in Porta Westfalica and has been working in design and development since his technical apprenticeship. When his career shifted into quality management, he deeply missed designing and creating. That is when he discovered 3D printing as a side project. Creating, experimenting, and solution-oriented tinkering are incredibly fulfilling for him – and thanks to DuoPrint3D, it has long since become more than just a hobby.

    Debbie Gerlach

Debbie was born in 1997 in Holzminden and now lives in Detmold. After completing her training in hotel management, she worked her way up from front office manager to accounting. With her solution-oriented approach, she supports her brother and DuoPrint3D with all accounting and administrative tasks. Her motto is: "Can't" is not an option!
